Remember Those Vid Game Cinematics?

Remember those video game cinematic's that eD worked on for so many months? Well the game has finally been released.

Saboteur...

The Game was finally released this week. eD worked on a few of the cinematics, but most of the sequences were cut and redone in game for some reason. eD has no plans whatsoever of buying the game until the bargain bins at least, maybe even a yard sale. But his name may be in the credits so we shall see.

Update on Goings on

eD is still busy at work, and when he comes home he unwinds and does not really do 3D work like he said he would, but he is getting back into it which is nice to see. He also just picked up a Wacom Intous 4 tablet which he is currently installing on both his mac laptop and his PC in the office. Looks like he will have a lot of fun with that.

eD also wanted me to let you all know of two "neener neener" moments that will be coming up in about a week or so. On Dec 13th eD will be watching a screening of the new Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 movie. The movie was worked on by the main studio so he was able to get himself some tickets to see it for free. Then on Tuesday the 15th eD was invited to the Premiere of Avatar at Mann's Grauman's
Chinese Theater!

New stuff to post soon I believe. If there is, you will hear it here first.

SSP work may slow for a bit...

eD has just given me word that he is starting work back at Rhythm & Hues commercial division on Monday. He cannot talk about the project that he will be working on but it will be revealed around mid-January and eD is very excited about it so it sounds like it will be pretty epic. Therefore, he will no longer have all day to sit around and flesh out ideas to make animated shorts and t-shirt graphics. He is still working on the t-shirt that was posted a few days ago, hopefully it will be completed before he has to start on Monday but we shall see.

Concept Art and Ideas for later

eD has been busy getting back to drawing and doodles. Something to help him ramp up work for his personal projects, as well as more practice in his 2D work which may help whenever he starts painting like he said he would.
Cthug - a project for the future, and image that has been stuck in his head a while. I think he watches too many horror movies and gets creepy cartoon ideas. Not sure how that all works, but it seems to work well for him. This is for a project that eD is trying to flesh out a bit more. It consists of two characters, a salmon, and I don't want to ruin the anticipation for the next character, so I will momentarily plead the 5th. I have thrown together a few drawings that eD has done to show where he is at with the Salmon at this point in time. He is still working on it, and has told me that he wants to "make it look kind of real, but funny with a cartoony feel," so we shall see how that works out. I think he is going to wait to finish the Salmon until after he starts working on the other character to give them similar style attributes. He seems pretty excited about the idea. I just want to see it in action before I pass judgement on it personally. I know it will make a lot of people laugh though.

New Shirt... Kinda...

After a long time of hassle I finally got some news of a new shirt. eD has been talking a lot about new shirts, but hasn't shown me anything. I convinced him to hook us up with some sketch graphics for the next shirt to be worked on. He claims that it will be done by this weekend. We shall see, hopefully he will keep me posted with work in progress updates that I can show all of you...The actual shirt graphic will be created entirely on the computer in 3D. This is just to show what eD has envisioned for this shirt.

SSPirate

eD made this for his uncles, who were severely dissapointed in the Pittsburgh Pirates for trading off so many players this season. So whenever they saw his Screwball shirt (like most people they initially thought that it meant screw baseball) they wanted one that made it look like it said Screw Pirates Baseball. Hence this new shirt symbol, and even a new variant of the SSP logo.

-click the image below to be taken to the Cafepress Store to Check out all the random SSPirate stuff...The bandanna makes the logo more pirate than gangsta but still makes me laugh.

SSP PSP Screens

eD sent me a bunch of PSP screens that he has made over the years to litter the page with. So for all of you that still have and use a PSP, here ya go...

What The...

eD had told me he was working on something. Some practice for texturing and prop/environmental modeling, he had told me. I had no idea what to expect and then he sends me this...
Not sure if it's from some personal experience, or just another random thought that made him laugh. I can never tell.

On the Road - News from eD...

I was home recently and stopped in at my Comic Book Shop (Infinity Music & More in Murrysville, PA) to pick up my books and what do I see but a sole remaining X-Men: Dark Tide Mini-Mate Box Set sitting on the shelf. I should have offered to sign it but I figured that may hinder anyone from buying it, so I didn't bother. Kinda cool to see them still in stores.

Funny Ha Ha's

eD has finally started his own Blog of Funny Ha Ha's. While we encourage eDz creativity, we do not always want to be related to his humor, hence the separate Blog for himself where he can let his Ha Ha's roam free. This will not interfere with his SSP work, it may actually help it, but we shall see about that in the future.

Painting Update

Before eD went off to Comic-Con he sent me a Work In Progress (WIP) picture of the Nerf gun that he was customizing. He said that the initial painting is completed, and once he gets back from Comic-Con he is going to start working on the airbrushed details and other ideas that he had. I was a little concerned about how this project was going to turn out, thinking that he would make it all cartoony and goofy. I think it is looking really cool so far, but I will let you be the judge...

Other Comic-Con Randomness

I was able to get two Head sketches from artist Sean "Cheeks" Galloway who created the concept art for the characters in the animated Hellboy cartoons, as well as, The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series, so I asked him to do head sketches of Doc Ock and my fave spidey villain Green Goblin.
I also got to meet Joe Ledbetter for the first time which was awesome. he signed my book and then after talking to him for a bit he offered to do a sketch in my book for me as well. How could I pass that up?
I got so much inspiration from Comic-Con it isn't even funny. My feet and back are sore from walking around so much the last few days, but I am going to put that inspiration into work and should have some interesting things this week to post.

Comic-Con Day 3

Started out super early to get in as soon as the con opened (@ 9:30 am). There was a Rob Zombie signing at 10 am, which I was really hoping to get to on time. As soon as the doors opened we rushed to the G4 booth in the back where the signing was going to take place, but by the time we got there the line was long and there would only be a finite amount of autographs that Mr. Zombie would do, and we were too late. very sad, but we wandered some more before going to the Family Guy panel (for the new star wars spoof episode), which then ran into the panel for the Cleveland Show where we saw some clips and listened to stories, new and a Q&A from the voice actors and creators. After that I went to get an autograph from John K (of Spumco creator of Ren & Stimpy). I was able to actually get him to sketch me and got a picture with him and Kali (i think John K's cartoonist daughter) who did a sketch of a bikini clad girl for me as well. After that we wandered some more I got more signatures and a sketch in a book from Joe Ledbetter, and then our last panel which was for Black Dynamite. That movie is going to be awesome!

Comic-Con Day 2

We started off the day around 10 am and wandered the con for a few hours before getting in line for the "9" panel. We stood in line for over 2 hours and totally missed the panel and the trailer for Legion (the next panel), but we were able to watch the panel and Q&A for it which made it sound cool. Next was the "District 9" panel with Peter Jackson and looks amazing (comes out Aug 14th my sisters B-day!). We wandered the con more and I was able to meet Stan Sakai (creator/artist/writer of Usagi Yojimbo) and get a sketch and picture. More wandering until the "worst cartoons ever" panel with some old cartoons that didn't quite seem like they were for kids, kinda funny. After that we called it a night and went back to the hotel.

First Day of Comic-Con

Got to comic con in time for john k creator of ren and stimpy's panel. it was awesome! Then we watched a screening of a new horror movie "Trick r Treat", which was very good. The kind of horror movie there should be more of.

more news once I get all the pictures on my computer.

eDz Paint Studio

eD has finally finished setting up his paint studio in his garage. here is a short video to give anyone interested a look at his ghetto fab' studio.

He plans to use this space for customizing toys, as well as, experimental painting and as much fun as he can have with paint cans and brushes. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can actually see some painted artwork awesomeness.

Ku Character Rotation from Those Pesky Ninjas

For full size video click this link!

If you would like to look at other renders that eD has posted you can check out his Flickr Page.

But if you would like to look at the Pitch that Ocean Airre Productions made for Those Pesky Ninjas, you can check out THIS page. eD created the characters (models, textures, & rigs) and supplied rendered frames of individual characters in poses, the compositing was done by someone else.

Animal Armageddon Sea Scorpion Montage

Finally got around to posting the montage of the 2 Sea Scorpions that eD modeled and textured for Animal Armageddon show on Animal Planet.

Bwah Ha Ha

eD got back to Cali last night, he was in New Jersey for a wedding. He was checking his email and noticed that someone bought one of his more "interesting" shirts from one of our webstores, the Sev Style Taxidermy shirt. We don't make much profit off of these, but now we know some random person somewhere will be wearing our crazy designs, which is a pretty cool feeling.

Crackdown 2

Thanks to E3 it has finally been revealed. The super hush, hush, keep yo darned mouth shut, game that eD worked on has been revealed to be Crackdown 2 for the XBox 360. eD did a lot of camera choreo, texturing, and some layout work.

The Reveal

Paper Zombies Logo

This is a Logo that eD created for a friends website. The website PaperZombies.com has some really awesome and twisted wordless comics created by Dave Hohlfeld. I imagine this logo will be put on a shirt sometime soon.

there is also another pose on the Flickr Page.

We will be posting work in progress and finished renders of current projects, as well as videos created for the sole purpose of showing all of you...
